Built from 1946 to 1950, the prototypes delivered more horsepower than the earlier RS-1, and introduced the rounded body style that defined Alcos of the period. Serving a variety of railroads, shortlines and industrial operators, many were going strong into into the 1970s and beyond. Features of this WalthersMainline model include:
