The 35 Cornaline d'Aleppo beads on this graduated strand, a mix of white and yellow hearts made in Venice in the 1800s and traded in Africa, show exceptional patina. They are mostly in excellent condition with a few minor end chips, a flake, and wear on 3 of the round beads (see enlarged photos).

I have enjoyed collecting beads for 40 years and have finally decided to let go of my collection. I'm 87 and my kids aren't interested in beads. The bulk of my collection came directly from African traders and trusted bead store owners, and with Native American beads, from finders, reputable dealers, and noted auction houses.

The strand measures 23-1/4 inches. The 2 large tubular center beads are 1 inch in length. One is 11/16 inch in diameter, and the other 5/8 inch. The round bead at the very center is 1/2 inch in length and 11/16 inch in diameter.
