First of all, this stamp is an old Third Reich used stamp, and at one time in its 84-year life, someone mounted in a stamp album using a common stamp hinge, the only available device at the time.

The mark left by the hinge is minimal and superficial. The backing is very clean and free of any defects, the obverse is in very good condition. The handstamp left the date it was processed as being 6.4.36. That, folks, is a long time ago. Most if not all of us weren't born yet!

The German who sold me this stamp wanted to trade me for a similar stamp bearing the likeness of Henry Ford. I had none.

To this German, Daimlet was  similar in stature to Ford. He finally settled for a couple of mint commemorative stamps.
