English Mid 19th Century Wax Jack Old Sheffield Plate #3385.

A wax Jack is used to heat wax which was then poured on the seam of a letter then stamped with the writers crest.

Wax Jack is marked on the bottom with three trademarks and engraved with the number 3385. Item has an attached snuffer and a thumb hold finger handle. Elaborately decorated edging gives this piece an added component of beauty with scalloped corners.

Item is in excellent condition with no noted flaws and has been cleaned with a silver cloth and warm water.
