This series of programmes shows the relaying of the Esk Valley Line from Whitby for approximately 2 miles to just beyond Ruswarp. This took place from 5th to the 13th of February 2005, 24-hours a day.

First the track laying is shown. Then the ballast trains move in, train after train.

The work took place in stages. Volume 1 is Whitby station to Bog Hall sidings.
