XiangHong Huang was born in China, where she learned to paint at an early age from her father, Xu Huang, a professor and famous Chinese artist. She acquired a bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts in China and taught at GuangXi Academy of Fine Arts for three years before coming to the United States in 1985 with a full scholarship to attend the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts. She received her Master’s Degree in Fine Arts at Purdue University. She moved to New Orleans in 1989, and since then, she has been continuously inspired in her art by the rich cultural influences of New Orleans. 

Her paintings have a unique and beautiful style, due to both the Eastern influences she had growing up and her many years as an active contributor to the rich culture of New Orleans. She has a diverse clientele who have come from around the world to buy her art. Her paintings are full of vibrant colors and reflect the rich cultural heritage of New Orleans.
