4-5.6/70-210 MC Auto Push-Pull Zoom Minolta Rokkor (SR/MD/MC) Mount Korea Manual Focus Lens

INCLUDED SALE CONTENTS
 -- lens
 -- mount cap, plastic
-- lens case: PU leather, microfiber interior, metal strap loops

OVERALL IMPRESSIONS
-- well-preserved with all functionality apparently intact.

ESSENTIAL INFORMATION
-- has not been mounted for testing as i don't have an md mount camera or adapter right now but operationally seems in full working order.

OVERVIEW
-- the md minolta lenses using this mount with the lever are listed to have been manufactured between 1977-2001, can't find anything specific about this exemplar since there is no brand listed.
 -- made in korea.
-- plenty of versions of this lens, both big-name brands and knock-offs. the konica minolta lenses primarily use the mount, other brands seem to be tokina, vivitar, sigma, and some lesser-knowns today.
-- have not encountered any indication about radioactive elements used in this lens design.
-- passed down to me by my elders, purchased in ex-soviet eastern europe probably around the 1980s.
-- looks lightly used and kept closed in normal room temperature/humidity.
-- never disassembled that i know of.
-- haven't gotten into film slr's yet, i have plenty of modern lenses to use with digital bodies.

BRUTALLY HONEST CONSIDERATIONS
-- i wouldn't recommend such a long focal length at higher than f/4, especially for film cameras unless you plan to shoot in bright daylight or plan for long exposures. the iso sensetivity of film is fairly low and your exposure would be very weak. if you use it on a digital sensor you can buff up the iso (especially on modern bodies). for photography a low iso would require good stabilization for longer exposures, but if you're getting this you already know what you're doing.

EXTERNAL / COSMETIC CONDITION
-- minimal scuffs around the body from normal use.
-- seems to be an all-metal construction.
 -- rubber focus ring.
-- there might be minor scratches on the lens glass but nothing apparent that would affect the image quality.
-- there does not seem to be any wiggle or play, stable construction. no audible noises.
-- sniff test passed, no smoke, pets, or dust smell detected. wind tunnel test also passed.

INTERNAL CONDITION / COMPONENTS
-- apparent minor dust inside around the edges of the front element. does not appear to be fungus but left it under the window exposed to sunlight (uv) just in case. does not appear to have changed in the past year since i've had it.

FUNCTIONALITY / INTERFACE
 -- standard md mount.
-- macro ranges listed in lens markings.
 -- 52mm filter thread.

PERFORMANCE / CAPACITY
-- does what you'd expect a zoom from this class would do.

EXPECTANCY / LONGEVITY
 -- it's already probably lived over 50 years, what's another 50?

ACCESSORIES / ELEMENTS
 -- generic back cap.
-- pu case, cushioned, closed by snap fastener press button. no belt or strap included.

COMPATIBILITY / CONNECTIVITY
 -- minolta sr/mc/md lens mount
-- adaptable to a wide range of mirrorless camera mounts via $15 lens mount adapters

!!! REDUCE !!! REUSE !!! REPAIR !!!
Please take a moment to consider if it's possible to use your older devices and other belongings just a bit longer and whether you could find them an alternative use or pass them onto someone who might need them. If repair or component replacement is no longer an option, and if they are unusable and no parts of them are salvageable, then consider finding them an alternative use leaving their recycling and disposal as a last resort. Consider eliminating single-use materials and the purchase and disposal of non-biodegradable waste from your daily life. Recycling is not always an option and many materials are not recyclable, especially with modern consumer technology. The continuous mindless production of e-waste and use of greenwashing for PR campaigns by corporate giants will lead to devastating results if we don't act against it. Vote with your wallet. Enjoy what you have and make it more special! Thank you for your interest.
