This full size 1920s/1930s violin has the characteristics of a German made trade violin crafted with well selected tonewoods and attention to detail. It is a Stradivarius model with classic lines, in solid condition for a violin of this age. Unlike a typical instrument of similar provenance, this violin has no cracks, repairs or open seams. The maple back is very nice, with the beautiful flamed grain of a quality instrument. The tight to medium grained spruce top shows typical signs of age, having been well played by violinists through the decades. The violin has a patina acquired only by a classic antique. Some varnish loss on the ribs near the end button has no effect on its bright, sweet tone. Set up with a newer pegs and a newer appearing fingerboard, this vintage European instrument is ready for the next player to enjoy now. Here’s a good way to add a lovely older instrument to your collection at a reasonable price - or help a young musician step up to a violin with history and character. It will be packed in an old case which you will want to replace - but will provide added protection during shipping. This violin is ready to play.
