Lovely antique Nippon/Japan SNB Nagoya, double handled vase - circa late 19th century.

Made of porcelain, this lovely piece features relief, overglaze, gilded scrolls, transfer applied landscape and floral decorations with some m hand enhanced finishing.

Condition:

Wear to gilt and decorations. Typical scratches and use related marks corresponding with age. The wear is expected considering the age of this piece. Wear on the rims, handles and the underside. I haven’t noticed cracks or repairs. Minor scabbing on the handles, rim and foot area is possible but there is nothing major or notable. No large chips noted. Production related imperfections.

Marked with Nippon SNB Nagoya mark. Nippon means “Japan”, Nagoya is a city in Japan. “SNB” is a name of a porcelain maker.

This piece was produced during the “Nippon Era” 1890-1921. When The McKinley tariff act was implemented in 1890, all export goods had to be marked with country of origin. Japanese wares of that period were marked “Nippon”. After 1921 all Japanese wares were required to use “Japan” instead of “Nippon”.

International customers – I am happy to work with international clients, but please be advised that there could be VAT import

taxes and tariffs that maybe be due to you when your item arrives. These additional

charges are based on an individual country import laws and eBay sellers have no

control of it. It is always good to check with your country’s customs.

Because most of my items are extremely fragile, I use larger boxes with extra padding and most often double box. Shipping costs are based on these factors.
