This is the second work in the History of Hydroplaning Series commissioned by Spirit of Detroit, Thunderfest, Inc. My Sweetie, Skip-A-Long, Such Crust, and Tempo VI round the Belle Isle turn on the Detroit River in the 1949 Gold Cup. Portraits of Wild Bill Cantrell, Stanley Dollar, Dan Arena, and Guy Lombardo are hidden in the work. Cantrell who also raced the Indy cars proclaimed that this race was the most memorable and exciting of his entire career.

Master Tire, Appian Jeronimo, and Miss Chrysler Jeep round the Roostertail turn in the 2000 Detroit Gold Cup. Portraits of Bernie Little and the hydroplane drivers are hidden within this work.
