This is a beautiful original moonscape seascape by William Hoffman.  I don't know for sure this was 1960 - 1969. I am thinking earlier. This piece is in great condition, with signs of minor wear commensurate with age.
The size of the actual canvas is 36" X 36" and in the frame it is 39-1/4 X 39-1/4. There are clips holding it into the frame so if you wanted to put in a more modern frame it is very easy to do.

What is amazing with this piece is it changes with the lighting. The dimmer the light the better you see the moon thru the clouds and reflected on the waves.  I have two different moonscapes and these are both original oil on canvas. The other is in another auction. If you get both I can combine shipping. These belonged to my father in law who collected art and when he passed away years ago in his nineties these were given to us where we stored in a guest bedroom.

We always thought we would hang them if we moved to a larger house which never happened.  The frames are mahogany.
If anyone out there can give me more details I would love to add them here.  Here is some info I found about the artist online.
William Hoffman (1924 - 1995) Crashing Waves Oil on Canvas. Raised in Montana, Bill Hoffman worked cattle ranches throughout the state. Following high school, he thought he might settle down on a ranch near Choteau, but the Marine Corps had other ideas, which included island hopping in the Pacific for three days during WWII. Known for his seascapes and Western themes, William Hoffman was a self taught artist. Finding painting later in life, after his first visit to an art gallery, he began to seek art as a career in his forties. His first paintings were seascapes of the Pacific, which capture its tranquil beauty. He spent a number of years continuing this theme and crafting his art before turning to studies of the West. I will pack very well
