This laptop has a fault where the screen goes all multicoloured and fuzzy vertical lines, we can't figure out why so it is selling for spares and repairs only with no warranty and no returns.  Sometimes it does work as it should for 2 minutes, sometimes for 30 minutes or more but sometimes the screen issue is present from the moment it is powered on.

It outputs without issue via the HDMI (even when the issue is present) and does often display and work just as it should. However, without warning it can just display the issue and then stay like that for as long as it wishes.  Turning it off and on again sometimes fixes it but this is only ever a temporary fix.  We did this once and were convinced it was fixed, the problem didn't come back for days, working perfectly, then the next day it did.

When we turned it on today, to list it for sale, it has worked perfectly for just over 20 mins - we were actually waiting for it to fail so we could takes pictures.  The touchscreen responds, it powers on and off as it should and continues to display perfectly when in standard laptop or tablet mode but not when the fault kicks in.

We have installed all updates from HP and Microsoft and although we did have a prolonged period where it looked like it was fixed the issue just came back again.

We had several of these which all sold for £449 when working as they should, could be a bargain if you can fix it or even if you are happy to live with it as it is - output to another screen and you wouldn't know it was there.
