Description:  It is for two separate original engraved antique maps approximately 155 years old with original hand coloring as issued. They are from Morse and Gaston's Diamond Atlas, published in New York by Samuel Gaston, 1857. A facsimile copy of the title page will also be included for authenticity. They are by Samuel Gaston and Sidney Morse, the brother of Samuel Morse, the inventor of the telegraph. Their father was Jedidiah Morse, also a mapmaker and publisher in New York. The maps are not mounted, matted nor framed, being sold as two separate single sheet that could be framed as a pair.
Size: The map images measure approximately 3 3/4 by 6 inches (9x15cm) on a 6 by 7 1/4" (15x18cm) pages with ample margin all around for framing as seen in the pic.
Condition: The maps are in Good to Very Good condition for its age with overall tonal aging and original hand coloring as issued, blank on the reverse on firm strong page. There is some minor handling around the margins, slight bend on one corner, otherwise very clean with bright color, see the pics for more on condition. The pics are of the actual map.
