This stunningly designed jug dates to c1889 and has beautiful gilding and enamel paints showing cranes, palm trees and bamboo shoots. beautiful late 19th century jet black and gold gilt water jug. This was made by Gibson & Sons and is stamped to the base with RD no 140614 and pattern name PALM as well as handwritten 446a. Beautiful display piece that is fully functional - no leaks.


Flaws & imperfections:


1. Small chip at the base, exposing original red clay, approximately 1mm. Gives pot character and good conversation piece about history of materials used to make Jackfield wares.


2. Thin scratch or minor crack line inside vass. Does not leak. Picture lighting enhanced to show flaw - approximately 2 inches long.
