About this product
This tetsubin is made of Nambu tetsuki (ironware) from Oshu, Iwate Prefecture. Nambu tetsubin iron kettles have excellent heat conductivity and heat retention properties due to their uniform thickness. Water boiled in an iron kettle contains iron, which gives it a mild taste. The beautiful appearance of the tetsubin also makes it useful not only as a tool, but also as interior decoration. OIGEN tetsubin tetsubin are fired in a kettle to prevent rust in a more traditional way. The inside of the tetsubin is also uncoated and unglazed, so it is easy to get dense hot water stains on it, and you can enjoy growing your own tetsubin. We hope you will use it with great care for many years to come.
◎This tetsubin features the traditional "arare" design of Nambu tetsubin. The arare pattern is inherited today from the ingenious wisdom and intricate design of our ancestors, as it makes the tetsubin thicker and more effective at retaining heat. The handle is a collapsible type that is convenient for storage. The size is neither too large nor too small, making it easy to pour for both men and women. Recommended for those who are looking for a tetsubin with a traditional design that is compact and easy to handle. (*Not compatible with IH).
