Tough to know where to start with these amazing and historic Tony Lamas. Let’s get the hard part out of the way first and don’t hate me but in 2023 one day I was filling the boots with a couple old shirts so they would look fuller as I photographed them and like a dumbass managed to tear through the front of the boot as I obviously made them too full and they were more frail than I realized. It was one of the worst moments as I loved these boots and vowed to always keep them. Your first instinct after seeing the pictures of the damage is that they’re likely stiff from age and thus super brittle but incredibly they aren’t at all. They literally have the softest leather I have ever held and are so incredibly well made. The damage is just a testament to how much I overdid the pressure and not indicative of fragile leather or stiffness from age. These were museum quality and if someone sewed them they could return to that form but for now I’m going to part ways with them at a reasonable price. The damage is only to the left boot.
