This kit includes castings to make both the loco and tender body, it also includes handrail wire and etched name/number plates. To complete you need a Graham Farish Hall chassis which requires no modification (full details included in the instructions) and a Graham Farish GWR/SR tender chassis (neither chassis is included). Requires assembly and painting.

Background

Introduced from 1936 to replace the worn out Moguls. Eighty engines were built, all of which passed in BR service. When built the Granges were fitted with 3,500 gallon tenders (this type is included in the kit) although some were known to have hauled the larger 4,000 gallon type (this model is available separately kit ref A32). When built the Grange had tapered buffers although later in their lives these were changed for the parallel type (both styles are included in the kit). These mixed traffic locos were used all over the system, often pressed into passenger duties in peak periods. The class was withdrawn between 1960-1965.
