Here are the simple, step-by-step directions: Locate the spot on the wall where you want to install the hook, tap a small nail into the wall at that desired location to determine if there is a wall stud or not, then take the nail out.
---If there is a wall stud, drill a hole that is 1" deep with a 1/8" bit then just screw in the wall hook until it is in all the way. No need for the wall anchor. You're done!
---If there is not a wall stud, drill a 1/4" hole(no bigger and no smaller than 1/4 (I am not responsible for improper installation!) and with a small hammer, carefully tap in the included plastic wall anchor until it is in all the way and then screw the hook into the anchor until it is in all the way. You're done!
TIP: When installing the wall anchor, please note that a tight fit is very necessary. If the drilled hole is too big it won't work, if the hole is too small the anchor could damage the wall, or the anchor can break while being hammered in.
