George Koras was born in Florina, Greece in 1925, and is currently living in San Francisco. He studied at the Art Students League in NYC. In the 50's, he worked as an assistant to Jacque Lipchitz. He went on to teach at the State University of New York at Stony Brook. His sculpture was cast with  Modern Art Foundry from the 50's through the 70's, and two of his brothers worked with us also. He had his own well equipped studio shop and often did a lot of his own finishing. He is a member of the Audubon Artists Society and has exhibited at the Boston Museum of Fine Arts, the Brooklyn Museum, the Pennsylvania Academy, and the Silvermine artist guild.
