Up for Auction: These are 7 of the original 8 commissioned Micronauts card artwork, fully painted edge to edge in oils, by world renowned artist Ken Kelly. These items are huge, painted on art board and signed by Ken Kelly. This is the set of original 7 paintings (only 8 exist) and here are the dimensions:

History: Ken Kelly was Frank Frazetta’s only student and these are some of his earliest published works. Under the guidance of Frazetta, Ken was able to fine-tune his skills and has done work for some of the best selling authors in the field and has also done many album covers, including two paintings for KISS.
Over the years, Ken’s artwork has continued to have the unique ability to evoke the imagination to travel to faraway places and primal battlefields. You will see that same imaginative ability in both his pen and ink drawings and his full color paintings.
In 1979 the MEGO toy company commissioned Ken Kelly to create the Card Cover art for the popular Micronauts toy line and comic book series. His work quite literally explodes with energy and throbs with life. His paintings are done exclusively in oil and are relatively large in size.
Note: The Micronaut card pictures are not for sale and are only displayed as an example of how they were used in the final product.
Professionally Framed: All 7 paintings are professionally framed (black frame on the outside and gold trim on the inside), UV plexiglass to protect the art from sun light and each displays quite well. With frame five of the pieces measure 37 x 40 inches (3 feet - 1 inch x 3 feet - 4 inches), the two larger ones are 40 x 50 inches (3 feet - 4 inches x 4 feet - 2 inches), and all are quite heavy (12 lbs each). You'll need a great deal of wall space to accommodate these very large pieces of art.
