I have just started to stock the In home range of header tapes made by Rufflette.
There are 28 varieties in this listing and the photos below will help.
Width- How wide the tape is. The longer the drop of the curtain the bigger the width of tape should be to make it look right.
Colour- Usually not much a problem as not seen but there are choices if you want them.
D or S pleat- D pleat tapes will usually have a fullness they have to made to, the pleats look better when hung but are slightly harder to pull up initially. S pleat tapes can be adjusted more easily because of variable fullness, the end result is not as crisp as the D pleat tapes. S pleat tapes are better for beginners to start on as they are easier to use.
Sew Lines- the number of visible lines to help you sew the tape on.
Draw cords- The number of cords running through the tape.
Fullness- the amount of fabric width required for the job. For variable it does not matter but around 2 gives a nice effect. If it states a "number ie 2" the curtains have to have that fullness. If you try to do it with less or more the curtains wont pull up correctly.
Row pockets- The number of places the hooks can be placed. The more pockets the more adjust-ability in up/down movement when hanging.
Types of pleat- Pencil (folds are one after another all the way along the curtain), Pinch (there are usually 3 folds pinched together then a flat gap till the next pinched set), Pleater (you can adjust the pinch distance by the use of metal pins)
