Del Pomar, Felipe Cossio. Arte Del Peru Precolombino. Fondo de Cultura Economica. Mexico, Buenos Aires. 1949. Folio size. Brown leatherette spine with gilt lettering. 23 color plates and 42 black and white drawings and photographs; about 100 small figures in text. TEXT IN SPANISH. Illustrated endpapers, color frontis. Major critical study on the art of Pre-Columbian Peru, analyzed independently from the structures of European aesthetics. The study comprises a time period of 7,000 years spanning from the Chavín, Tiawanako and Huayala cultures to the Inca empire, organized by different topics: art, archaeology, ethnology and anthropology. Basic survey of subject and well illustrated. VG condition. Some edge and corner wear, reading crease at spine. Owner's name/date on ffep. A little red underlining in text but pages are tight, mostly clean. I use a poor/fair/good/very good/excellent/mint grading system and grade very conservatively (see my feedback). This does NOT necessarily correspond to the generic Ebay grading system that we are forced to use. Shipping is $3.95 in the U.S.
