This is for a simply beautiful, Antique French porcelain, hand-painted Covered Egg shaped trinket or jewelry box.  It's a large size, with hinged lid, brass workings. It's got loads of gold and floral decoration, top and bottom sides, insides both have a little sprig too.  It has been nicely repaired...but this is top and bottom....still so pretty for display. It measures 5 1/2" x 4" x 4" tall. The brass hinge and clasp are in good condition, and work well...there is some darkened areas on clasp...not sure it's been repaired, but the brass needs polish.  It's signed on bottom in script Made in France, Hand-painted.  The top half of the egg has a hair-line crack, I don't think it's been repaired. The bottom half of the egg has two cracks, and it may have been repaired....no loss of porcelain or paint..so maybe the brass rim actually held it together, and it's just cracked...just not sure.  I've had it in display case for many years....just too pretty to part with.  It's bright and shiny...painted in greens, green leaves, blue forget-me-nots...and loads of gold dots and leaves.
