A vintage Art Deco style Cigarette Case with engraved mark of the famous Checker Cabs taxi company.

We are pleased to present this vintage Art Deco style Cigarette Case for your consideration. It was purchased by Laurence and Sally Martin while traveling in South Africa to film the Travel Channel's hit reality TV show Baggage Battles. The Cigarette Case has a brass finish, and was manufactured in Czechoslovakia. Of special interest is the mark on the inside of the iconic Checker Cab taxi company.

The Cigarette Case measures 3-1/2 inches high, 5-1/4 inches wide, and is 3/8 inch thick. It weighs 5.1 ounces. The edge of the lid is marked CZECHOSLOVAKIA. Near one of the corners is the engraving CHECKER-CABS 33-4567 (see pictures).

The exterior shows normal surface wear with a dark patina. It could be polished and will shine up nicely if desired. The interior has a nice shine, with scattered light surface scratches. The strap on the inside has dried somewhat, but retains some flexibility. The latch to close the case works properly, and the case is free of any physical damage. We rate its overall condition as very good.

This is an unusual Checker Cabs piece. It would make a nice addition to any collection!
