KALE - BORECOLE - HEIRLOOM - RED RUSSIAN - 2000 FINEST SEEDS
A vigorous and attractive Heirloom variety, Red Russian kale colours up well even before cold weather, but especially after cool weather. The oak-leaf shaped grey green leaves of this kale are deeply cut and are intersected by purple-pink veins, lightly tinged with purple on the margins. Excellent for salad greens when leaves are thumb size and tender; larger leaves make delicious and nutritious cooked greens as per other kale varieties. Height up to 2 ft.
- Plant from early spring as
soon as the ground can be worked or in autumn for an over-winter crop.
- Sow 1/4 to 1/2" deep,
1" apart in rows 18-30" apart. Thin seedlings to 8-12"
apart which can be transplanted or eaten.
- Kale germinates best in cool
or warm soil temperatures with even moisture.
- Choose an area with full sun
and a soil pH of 6.0-7.0.
- Enrich the soil with compost
or well-rotted manure.
- Harvest leaves
from the outside of the plant first.
- Kale is very hardy and quality actually improves after a frost

Product Notes
The majority of our seed are now supplied in quality clearly labelled foils to ensure the freshness of seeds. A small number will be in sealed Ziplock pouches dues to seed size. Note cultivation advice is not attached on packets supplied as this allows us to keep packaging to a minimum and supply such high counts of quality seed at a fraction of high street prices. Full cultivation is provided above which can be copied or printed for those that require them.

IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ CAREFULLY - Please note seed is a live product which depends on many important related grower skills such as proper planting time, seed depth, and type of soil, watering, proper use of fertilizers, weed controls, fungicides, insecticides, disease free soil, and reasonable weather conditions during the growing period.
