Oper, Operette, Lied, Oratorium, Musical – es gibt keinen Bereich, in dem Thomas Hampson nicht Maßstäbe setzt: Im Operngenre mit großen Mozart-, Verdi- Britten- und Wagner-Aufnahmen, auf dem Gebiet des Oratoriums und der Sakralmusik mit Werken von Bach, Mozart, Brahms, Fauré und Duruflé. Thomas Hampson, gebürtiger Amerikaner, hat sich auch um die Interpretation amerikanischer Songs verdient gemacht – von Charles Ives über Aaron Copland bis Leonard Bernstein.
