These are used on a huge variety of BMW models for a wide range of purposes but are generally single use items. They are often used for mounting Lambda / Oxygen sensors to attaching trim and hold boot linings in place. Once removed they never hold as tight and so are best to replace. 

The hole diameter is 4mm and the collar diameter is 16mm

PLEASE NOTE:

These nuts are used on the vast majority of BMW vehicles. Your model may not show up on the compatibility tool because Ebay only allows a maximum of 1000 different models. These nuts fit far more model variants than that.
