DescriptionWelcome to my auction - Up for your consideration is this beautiful, antique Chinese cloisonne baluster form vase. This lovely early piece features a white ground with cloud diaper pattern decorated in a floral/foliate motif with chrysanthemums, a butterfly and a large rose - all done in shades of blue. It has the traditional repeated Ruyi border around the top in black and an unusual crushed turquoise enamel which is also in the fish scale pattern at the base and on the very bottom. The inside is finished in blue enamel and the metal around the top appears to be brass while the base metal looks like copper. It comes on the lacquer stand shown which has a bat motif design.
CONDITION - The vase is in very fine, antique, pre-owned condition! A lovely and well kept piece, some normal age/use, no enamel damage noticed however there is pitting which is indicative of age, top brass has dulled and inside darkened because it was used as a vase.
SIZE - The vase stands approximately 6" tall, on stand it is 7" tall, 2 1/8" across top, 3" across bulbous section, 1 5/8" across base.
