BANANA Musa Ensete
Musa ensete (Ensete ventricosum) can grow
up to 2 m tall with large leaves. A relative of the banana plant, Musa ensete
is commonly called Abyssinian banana. It
is one of the hardiest bananas. Greenhouse perennial. Suitable for large
containers and borders in milder climate.
Preparation: Soak the seeds in tepid, sterilised or distilled water
for about two days, change the water after the first day.
Sowing: Sow the seeds in sowing compost with coir, vermiculite
or sand. Sow the seeds half covered with the growing medium and place them in
either a propagator or cover with a plastic bag to maintain temperature and
humidity. Once small shoots appear, move the seedling into peat free compost
mixed with sand or vermiculite.
Required temperature
to germinate: Daytime
30-35⁰C/Night 15-20⁰C
Germination time: 2-8 weeks

Standard EU seed for the hobby gardener, packed in the UK.

Tip: Place/plant Abyssinian bananas and other
banana plants out of the wind. Strong winds will quickly damage the large
leaves.

In 99.9% you will receive your item/s within 3-4 working days for the economy delivery and 1-3 working days for the standard delivery. In the unlikely event your item/s is delayed, please allow for the courier's time limit to expire before contacting us.

All the seeds have been tested and are with long shelf life (stated on packaging), so are expected to germinate and grow if cared for properly. For these reasons, we cannot be held responsible if any of the seeds show no or little productivity.
