A 9 1/2" tall nice AMBER COLORED antique SCHNAPPS bottle. This is a very early hand Blown Into Mold bottle with an Applied Lip (BIMAL) , dating it all the way back to the 1800's.
- Bottle Embossed: "UDOLPHO WOLFE'S / AROMATIC SCHNAPPS / SCHIEDAM".
- Condition: This bottle looks like it was well used as it made the trip up to Montana on an old Missouri River steam boat, and then was probably reused over the years, over and over again from the looks of the wear on the base, as a glass vessel was a valuable commodity back in the nineteenth century wild west. It has wear; scuffs/scratches/scrapes, along with a few small nicks, the worst being a long thin flake of glass out of the inner lip area, which as you see from the pictures, isn't really noticed as it is so thin and towards the inside of the bottle, it can't be seen much on the horizon of the lip. Actually the only time we noticed it was when we were scrutinizing the bottle to describe. See picture's for an even better idea of the bottle's overall appearance.
- Age: An early hand-blown bottle (Blown-In-Mold = BIMAL) with an applied-lip, ca. late 1800's.
- Shipping: All DOMESTIC shipping charges INCLUDE insurance. We have enjoyed shipping our items all over the world and are happy to offer most of our items to international buyers. Yet insuring International parcels is very expensive so PLEASE NOTE; we do NOT insure International orders unless winning buyer specifically requests this and we are able to provide an insurance quote. We do not falsify information on the Customs Form, such as a price other than what the actual purchase price is, so please do not request us to do so. We ship several times a week and send payment acknowledgments and shipping confirmations. Your prompt payment will assure a very quick turn-around time. IMPORTANT NOTE: If our shipping charge is much more than the actual shipping cost, we will refund the excess so what YOU pay for shipping/insurance is very close to, if not exactly, the ACTUAL shipping costs! This is especially important for foreign buyers to know as most of our foreign shipping charges are rough estimates.
This old Schnapps bottle made its way to Montana and is old enough that it was likely brought up the Missouri River on Steam Boat, before better transportation means were discovered. Though a common bottle by national standards, you rarely find this type of bottle out west up in the old mining camps and ranches, check it out!
