You are bidding on the 23rd cover of a set of 100 first day covers containing stamps issued in the Marshall Islands commemorating the 50th anniversaries of the 100 most significant events starting with the invasion of Poland and ending up with the end of World War II on VJ day, September 2, 1945.

This 23rd cover depicts the 50th Anniversary of the signing of the Atlantic Charter on August 14, 1941. The President of the United States of America and the Prime Minister, Mr. Churchill deem it right to make known certain common principles in the national policies of their respective countries on which they base their hopes for a better future for the world. The cover is double cancelled and the red cancellation is from Majuro proper on August 14, 1991, 50 years after the signing. The cover bears two 29 cent Atlantic Charter 1941 stamps and two Marshall Islands stamps precancelled with rare 2-stamp device in red. The creator of the cover is also a member of the American Philatelic Society. This is a beautiful and unique cover to own and one of a limited edition.
