"'The Big Train,' "The Georgia Peach," "Rajah," and "The Sultan of Swat" - the names alone resonate with magic. They weren't just ballplayers, they were heroes. They were the best."

This player was selected by Megacards as one of The Best There Was. . . And who is able to argue with the selection? The card is made from an original Conlon glass negative, enlarged to 8X10 size and presented "in action" in classic black and white! Normally, the reverse features another photograph (in portrait) and major league record followed by a lengthy biography. This card, however, for the sake of permitting the details of both men, eliminated the second photograph(s) on the back. No serious collection should be without the great Conlon cards and this card is no exception to that rule. It is a combination of great photographic artistry and the work of an outstanding wordsmith.

Just 25,000 images of this card were produced. While made in the same low numbers as Conlon's 1993 8"X10" COLOR MASTERS, the black and whites seem to turn up less frequently.
