Fitted as standard to all USA Strats and teles, CTS pots have just a 10% tolerance for greater contsistancy & accuracy and are considered by many to be more robust and reliable. Audio Taper Pots give you a more perceivable change in sound over the course of a full turn of your guitar knob. A lot of guitarists prefer having a wider spectrum of control over their volume and tone knobs as it can be more useful in a live scenario. An Audio Taper Pot gives you more dynamic control for volume swells, and lets you roll off your volume knob to get a cleaner guitar tone with more precision than a Linear Pot. Linear Pots are great for when you want your volume or tone knob to act as an on/off switch. Linear Pots will affect your guitar signal in a straight line, so once you’re at the 50% mark of your knob, you will be getting 50% of the guitar signal through.
