This work is a work of famous ceramist Tetsuaki Nakao of Saga Prefecture (refer to the website of MAGOKORODO.Co.Ltd. for ceramists' detailed information).

Mr. Nakao who has got high evaluation and praise all over the world is making the works using the very beautiful crystal glaze named "GINGA-YUU / Galaxy glaze."

This work is a work of a high-grade class currently sold at his private exhibition, and this work is HARU-GINGA-YUU GUINOMI (Spring galaxy glaze GUINOMI SAKE Cup).

The spring Galaxy glaze in which the fresh green of a spring new life is impressed is used for this work.

The result of the crystal glaze which he has done research and development in for years in this work is condensed by the work.

Tetsuaki Nakao's ceramist mark is sealed by the work bottom.

The storage box made from a high-grade paulownia wood (with strings) in which a ceramist's autograph signature was written, the sealed cloth, and the guide in which Mr. Nakao's history was written are attached to this work.

This storage box is also the highly complete handicraft made by the special storage box craftsman.

This work is a very good condition also without a crack and a chip in a new article.

All the works are the secured pottery in which I visited kiln directly, and gave and did direct buying of the explanation from the ceramist.

Galaxy glaze is the "crystal glaze" to which metaled crystals gather for and various brightness is released.

Various metallic elements in glaze were fired at 1200 degrees - 1250 degrees, and crystallized.

Since crystal glaze is glaze which needs the work of the skill which reads and adjusts scientific knowledge and a natural change, it is very beautiful graceful glaze like the brightness of a natural ore seldom seen in Japan.

Since the Discoloration-of-ceramic-ware crystal glaze even with completely same skilled ceramists cannot be made, the completely same work as the work of Mr. Nakao by whom you are seen does not exist in this world.

"Spring Galaxy" which makes spring fresh green imagine, and "summer Galaxy" which makes the starlit sky which spreads on the night-sky whole surface on which summer cleared up imagine,Five sorts of "autumn Galaxy" of the color of the preparation which cherishes the new life of autumn, and "winter Galaxy" with beauty like Stardust of winter which cleared up and the "MUTSUKI(January) Galaxy" of variegated tone are the kinds of Galaxy glaze which is stabilized for Mr. Nakao is making color now.

I looked at the various writers' crystal glaze within and without Japan. But Mr. Nakao's crystal glaze is fine, and if it expands and looks at glaze nearby, it is beautiful like the ice needles of winter.

Mr. Nakao are firing the works of 5 kinds of Galaxy glaze using 5 kilns.

Each glaze is very delicate and it is impossible to fire all the glaze and to make it color under the same conditions.

If there are 5 kinds of delicate Galaxy glaze, the firing methods which are 5 kilns and suited each condition is required for it.

1952: Born in Saga.

The department of the Keio University department-of-literature philosophy was quit on the way.

Studied under Mr.Ryuzan Aoki.

1981: Participates in Kyushu chapter of the Japan Contemporary Arts and Crafts Association, and aspires after a ceramist.

1982: First entry submitted to and then awarded by the Japan Contemporary Arts and Crafts Exhibition and the Japan Art Exhibition (NITTEN).

1992: The work was collected at the Beijing central applied-fine-arts institute laboratory (China).

The work was collected to Hangzhou Southern Song Dynasty Guan Kiln Museum (China).

1993: Invitation exhibition as a representative of Japan to Biennale lnternationale de Ceramique d'Art de Vienna held in France and Nevers.

1994: Collects to U.S. Colorado Denver Art Museum (permanent preservation).

1995: International Art Prize Grand Exhibition'95 Italia/Awarded the lnternational Art Encouragement.
