Owon’s AG1022F is a versatile 25MHz 125MSs/a waveform generator that provides both function and arbitrary waveforms using DDS (Direct Digital Synthesis) techniques, and adds waveform modulation capabilities. The AG1022F provides stable, precise, low-distortion signals from DC up to 25MHz with 14-bit vertical resolution. Standard functions provided include 5 basic waveforms (sine, square, pulse, and ramp waveforms, and a noise output) and 45 built-in arbitrary waveforms. Signal modulation capabilities include: Amplitude Modulation, Frequency Modulation, Phase Modulation, Frequency Shift Keying, Sweep, and Burst. Also included is a 200MHz frequency counter capability. The output impedance is adjustable from 50 Ohms to ‘Hi-Z’. In Hi-Z mode, the output levels can be in excess of 20Vpk-pk, so a 7.07Vrms waveform can be achieved with plenty of adjustment headroom. The AC low-frequency limit is 1μHz; and the lowest output level is 1mVp-p. The frequency control on the AG1012F shows a ‘typical’ SSB phase noise of -100dBc/Hz at 10kHz offset (running at 10MHz). The user-friendly panel layout features a 3.9” TFT color LCD (480 x 320), the menu-driven controls are intuitive - all functions and parameters are easily accessible, allowing users to quickly and easily produce the test signals they need. A useful integrated Help function shows descriptions of single functions and step-by-step instructions for operational tasks. Various I/O connections on the AG1022F are available on the rear panel, including RS232 and USB (Host and Device). PC control via SCPI commands is supported for remote setting of the instrument’s parameters and output, and the PC’s display can synchronously reproduce the waveform generator’s screen image.
