ITEM DESCRIPTION:
Horn Sharks are endemic to the Pacific Coast of the USA. These cases were found in Southern California. These were collected empty - the baby sharks had already hatched!
Five egg cases per lot.
The "corkscrew" shape is very odd for shark cases - the design is so that the fresh egg cases will get wedged between submerged, rocky crags and similar structures until the babies emerge.
Some may have a hole in one side where it "hatched" or was naturally damaged before washing ashore.
Size ranges from 3 to 4 inches long each.
I have more than 1 set of these - the pictures show 3 pcs pulled at random but each lot is for 5 similar specimens.
NOT A MASS-PRODUCED WIDGET! REAL SPECIMENS.
Thanks for looking!
