Model can easily be used on its own in a variety of modelling scenarios to add visual interest.

Industrial water treatment facilities cover a multitude of activities as part of the purification process before water can be returned to rivers and municipal drainage systems after use in manufacturing processes. Sometimes used water is recycled for local re-use but further processes must take place to eliminate possible health risks. One important part of the process is the movement of waste-water at the various stages requiring large, intermediate or small pumps and appropriate isolation valves for servicing and replacement. Pump size and type is dependant on waste-water constituents and volumes being processed. Although externally placed large pumps are used at various parts of the process sometimes they are grouped in one area with interconnecting pipework often run out of sight with supply and return pipes turning down into the tanks, bunkers or semi-covered trenches below ground level.

We have selected two large size pumps that would be seen outside either singularly, doubled or multi-banked covering some or all of the external processing, suitable for N-Gauge 1:148 to 1:160 scale size modelling. To simplify layout one of the pumps has a horizontal in-line inlet and outlet the other turns through 90o for left, right or vertical positioning. If required in addition to the pipework and fittings included, further interlinking pipework can be achieved using our industrial Pipework & Fittings kits available separately, particularly as these large pumps are sometimes placed with a direct pipe connection to oil separation and sludge tanks. The pumps with electric motors fitted are often coloured in blue as are gate-valves but occasionally they are green, orange or black. Connecting pipework can be black, silver/grey, pale green, pale blue or red-oxide. The valve hand-wheels often match pump colours, but black, yellow and red are also used, however all colours given are not exact being a matter of choice. The bases can be a hint of green-beige to represent concrete block finish as could pipe support, unless grey preferred.
