Thunder at Luetzen
Napoleon's Fight for Empire

Thunder at Luetzen game is an army level simulation of the opening of Napoleon's 1813 campaign. Historically, the Allies bungled their attempt to ambush the French and were soundly beaten on 2 May. The game recreates the possibilities that existed the day before, on 1 May 1813.  By starting a full day before the actual battle, it truly gives one a feeling for what went into this particular campaign. The actual battles take place in many different places over the map.  Freedom from being forced into the "historical" positions makes this into a much more interesting game with far more replay value.
The game rules contain designer's notes and two historical articles: The "Politics of the Luetzen Campaign" and "The Opposing Armies at Luetzen" (full order of battle)
