One (1) Matchbox Lesney Original Type E3 Box (blue end flap showing number, model graphic, description, no trademark; faces showing color model graphic, with 'MATCHBOX' in arc over smaller font 'series' above, number in lower corners; plain blue sides) for 33b Ford Zephyr 6. EMPTY BOX ONLY. 67 mm long, 27 mm wide, 38 mm high. Please carefully examine the high definition photos for detail. All external surfaces are shown and internal closures can be seen in the last two photos. This box shows all original closures present and intact. No repairs done or necessary. No visible flap fold fatigue exists. The end flaps show no significant edge effects from use. No wrinkling or creasing present. This 33b, E3 type type box is clean, bright, and rigid for display or archive storage purposes. Any blemishes, if present, are visible in the photos. This box is in very much better than average overall condition for a box of this vintage. See below 2. Overall Age Indexed  Condition Assessment definitions with the understanding that condition is, to a degree, subjective. Additional photographs can be sent to your e-mail address and questions will be entertained up to 4 hours prior to auction end.

2. Overall Age Indexed Condition Assessment:

Very much better than average: This top overall grade shows all original closures present, no detachment, with no significant fold fatigue, and are therefore not likely to detach. No repairs or significant storage effects, such as compression, creasing, wrinkling, perforation, scuffing or delamination of the image, or staining effects, etc. are evident. No writing is seen anywhere on the box. Overall, the box is in as nearly as new condition as likely to be found.

Much better than average: This overall grade allows for no more than one original closure to have been neatly, internally tape reinforced or re-attached, if any. This grade allows for no other repairs to the paperboard structure. This grade does not allow for the replacement of a box part with another original or facsimile part. This grade allows for re-imaging* of no more than one surface, including an end flap. *Re-imaging consists of the lamination of a new, replica image overlaid on the existing surface, most frequently employed to repair shop tag removal damage. There may be other reasons related to appearance improvement for which re-imaging is used. It will not always be visible but will always be disclosed. The degree of flap fold fatigue is a relative scale from negligible (not generally visible) to minor to moderate to substantial (fatigue very likely or may have begun). Fatigue occurs with repeated use and presents as a rupture in the interior surface at the paperboard pulp membrane at the fold. Detachment is increasingly more likely with increasing fatigue. This grade allows for only minor fatigue which not likely to result in detachment unless the box is frequently used in the future. This grade allows for a degree of normally expected effects of storage and use, such as as small price marks, shop tag adhesive residue with no underlying damage, minor scuffing with no loss of image, minor compression and creasing which does not significantly affect the rigidity of the box.

Better than average: This overall grade allows for no more than two original closures to have been neatly, internally tape reinforced or re-attached. This grade allows for other repairs to the paperboard structure, such as to arrest a tear to mend a perforation. This grade does allow for the replacement of a box part with another original or facsimile part. Fatigue occurs with repeated use and presents as a rupture in the interior surface at the paperboard pulp membrane at the fold. Detachment is increasingly more likely with increasing fatigue. This grade allows for up to moderate fatigue which not likely to result in detachment unless the box is frequently used in the future. This grade allows for a degree of normally expected effects of storage and use, such as as small price marks, shop tag adhesive residue with or without underlying damage to be described, minor scuffing with some loss of image to be described, minor to moderate compression and creasing which only slightly affects the rigidity and stature of the box. Both face sides of this grade are nicely displayable.

Average: This overall grade allows for multiple or all original closures to have been neatly, internally tape reinforced or re-attached. This grade allows for other repairs to the paperboard structure, such as to arrest a tear to mend a perforation. This grade does allow for the replacement of box parts with another original, original re-imaged, or facsimile part but to no more than three This grade allows for re-imaging* of no more than two surfaces, including an end flap. *Re-imaging consists of the lamination of a new, replica image overlaid on the existing surface, most frequently employed to repair shop tag removal damage. Fatigue occurs with repeated use and presents as a rupture in the interior surface at the paperboard pulp membrane at the fold. Detachment is increasingly more likely with increasing fatigue. This grade allows for any degree of fatigue which not may or may not likely result in detachment at some point and may require reinforcement to prevent separation. This grade allows for a greater degree of normally expected effects of storage and use, such as as price marks, shop tag adhesive residue with or without underlying damage to be described, minor scuffing with loss of image to be described, minor to moderate compression and creasing which affects the rigidity and stature of the box. The box graded average has at least one good display face and will still be functional for storage.

Below Average: Good only for parts or as a filler box.
