A regal late 1899 pink silk with machine lace accents around front neck and upper bust yoke area.
The bodice is accented with white machine lace on its high neck collar and front of bodice. The bodice is lined with cotton and with 8 covered whale bone baleen stays and has inner front hook and eye closure. The inner front closure acts like a corset. Sleeves are curved with 3 rows of black velvet trim at cuff.
The skirt closes by hooks and loops at the back and gathers with cartilage pleats to form the back for a nice fall and sweep. The skirt is lined with cotton. The bottom of skirt has one flounce accented with black velvet trim. Skirt has a wide black velvet inner dust sweep. In very good condition.
The bodice and skirt have hooks to attach and hold up the weight of the skirt.
Condition: The dress is in fair/good condition for its age. BODICE: Light underarm staining on outside, darker staining inside lining. Has some small wear holes and repair in underarms to stabilize. Some very small age spots scattered about. Small water stain in front. Silk on high neck collar has shredded silk. One small area of water staining on inner lining only.
SKIRT: is in very good condition with one stain, as seen in photo.
