Item Description : 

This is a Japanese pottery tea bowl of Kutani ware, which was made by the 1st class potter, Saichi Matsumoto (1930-) about 25 years ago.

He is a great potter, who was designated as a Human Cultural Treasure from Ishikawa prefecture, Japan in 1999. In addition, he won the blue-ribbon prize of one of the most famous Japanese art exhibitions, Nitten Exhibition in 1977 and 1988. Furthermore, he received the Award for Cultural Merit in 1998. 

The seal of the potter is stamped on the bottom.

The original wooden box with the signature of the potter & the profile of the potter are also included.
