A very brief History of Rite in the Rain:

The hassle of soggy, illegible paperwork has plagued outdoor professionals for decades.  The founder of Rite in the Rain developed the earliest version of this paper to address that problem for the Pacific Northwest logging industry in the 1920s and the product has been evolving and improving ever since.  This paper is used around the world in situations ranging from desert warfare to rainforest insect research.

Environmental Information:

In spite of its durability, this paper is totally recyclable as standard paper, unlike many of its competitors.  The Polydura cover is also recyclable and is manufactured from post-consumer recycled materials (milk bottles, shampoo bottles etc).  The manufacturing process was also designed to have an ultra-low impact on the environment.

Archival for Survival:

Rite in the Rain 20 & 32 lb papers meet the archival criteria laid out by ANSI/NISO Z39.48-1992 (R2002).  They will last several hundred years under normal use.  All of the books are made from these grades.
