DESCRIPTION OF THE SUBJECT OF THIS PRINT:

Heniochus macrolepidotus. The butterfly-fish of Eastern Asia bears many of the characteristics of fishes of the coral reefs: the high, flat build, the strange extension of the fins, the unusual markings dividing the body in crosswise stripes, instead of emphasising the structural lines.
