Original cabinet photograph of the 1896 Princeton University track team in uniform in a formal studio pose. While the image captures about thirty members, it is highlighted by the four men who dominated at the FIRST modern Olympic Games in Athens a few months after this was taken. Included are Albert Tyler (Pole Vault Silver) sitting far left lower corner, F.A. Lane (100m 4th) middle row second from right, Herbert Jamison (400m Silver) second row third from right, and the star of the team Robert Garrett (2 gold and 2 silver medals) center with mustache. A great piece of photography with stars from the first modern Olympic Games! Condition is basically perfect!
