On auction, we have the Explorer MM-1 double edged dagger or boot knife. The 3 1/2" blade is marked "Explorer MM-1" on one side and "21-043 Japan" on the other side. Research tells me that the blade is stainless steel, the handle, a textured metal and that this knife dates to the 1970's or 1980's. The knife is 7 1/4" long and weighs 3.1 ounces.
This comes in it's original black leather sturdy sheath. It has a clip on the back for hiding the knife in your boot, belt or wherever.
These are in excellent condition, possibly never used. There are no flaws that I can find on the blade, but the handle has some white marks either from storage or remnants of a price tag. The leather sheath has some light scratches from storage. As I am not an expert on knives, please view my photographs for more description.
While not an expert on collectible daggers, I am an experienced chef. I wish my kitchen knives had handles like this: non-slip, easy to hold and with comb-like edges next to the blade for the best grip. Just a great design.
My friend who collects everything is starting to part with some of her treasures. Now, she's convinced her husband to do the same.
I will be happy to answer any questions and, of course, combine your shipping.
