The Owl Drug Co. was originally a western concern, opening their very first store in San Francisco, Cal., ca. 1892. They had quite a large selection of medicinal related products that came in an incredibly large assortment of different sized, shaped, and colored bottles, making them a prime target for bottle collector's today. Besides their regular line of bottled prepared products, they also operated a prescription drug department that filled prescriptions using a fairly standard clear glass rectangular shaped bottle that was available in ten different sizes. This bottle here is one of these, originally it contained a prescription that was filled at The Owl Drug Co. This style of bottle came in ten different sizes (from the smallest ½ ounce - 2.5 inch tall bottle all the way up to the LARGE 32 ounce - 9.5" tall bottle) ALL having a slightly different looking owl embossed on them. Many of them came with pre-packaged / prepared medicinal products, but this was also the standard bottle that the owl used to fill prescriptions with. These little ones came with a product in them that was highly concentrated, to be dispensed by the drop or eye dropper, thus the small size. This is about as nice of one as you will see, check it out!
