Tilandsia Usnesoides more commonly known as spanish moss,grandpas beard,long moss or Florida moss is not a moss it is an epiphytic plant which grows on another plant or object but does not rely on the host for nutrients .This is why it is also called an Air plant as it lives hanging in the air,although it does not have any roots.It has long,curly ,thin grey strands of plant that hangs in thick masses,it has tiny little light green flowers which grow a seed that will be dispersed by birds or the wind.A fantastic plant to use to create beautiful Fairy Gardens at your place...Spanish Moss grows well in partial shade,it prefers a moist environment but survives in  hot dry habitats as well.I have it growing in full sun ,shade,indoors and along fences for privacy,but it does not like too much frost.
