Bing & Grøndahl Figurine # 2275

Please Help, Mummy

Boy With Shoe

Design By Michaela Ahlmann

Being offered on this auction is Boy With Shoe Figurine made by Bing & Grøndahl of Copenhagen, Denmark. This is B&G Figurine # 2275. It is called ‘Please Help, Mummy’ and features adorable boy sitting on the piece of rock and trying to fit shoe on his right foot. He has brown hair. He is wearing white t-shirt and brown pants. Figurine looks splendid and very cute. Sculptor Michaela Ahlmann designed this figurine. She was a creator of many cute children figures.

Bing & Grondahl (B&G) was founded in 1853 and existed until 1987, when Royal Copenhagen merged with Bing and Grondahl. B & G, Bing & Grondahl refer to the founders: Fred. Vilh. Grøndahl (1819-1856), technical director; the brothers M.H. Bing (1819 - 1883) and J.H. Bing (1811 -1896) as economical directors. This figurine is marked with three towers in green. This hallmark comes from the City Coat of Arms of Copenhagen. ‘B&G’ printed below the tower in green, ‘Kjøbenhavn’ and ‘Denmark’ identify production of 1952-1957. There are also ‘B&G’ in blue as well as model number 2275 and production painter initials ‘BO’ printed in green on the backside. Unfortunately, we do not know the name of this artist. This figurine is fully discontinued now.

Figurine measures about 3 ¾” x 3 ½” and stands 5 ½” (14 cm) tall. Condition is immaculate with no chips or cracks found. Colors are bright and vibrant. Please take a look at the pictures to find out more about this item.
