Hard to find complete 64-page issue of Liberty Magazine for 8 November, 1941, just a month before the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor. A very good copy with just a slight bit of wear/soil to wrappers. Lots of illustrations. Outstanding contents include:

A colorful Halloween cover by Tom Kelley.

A letter from movie magnate Cecil B. DeMille lauding the artwork of "Armando." Also, a full-page sketch of New York Mayor LaGuardia by "Armando" is pictured in photo #3. Mayor LaGuardia, who at this date was also the Director of U.S. Civil Defense, also pens an essay "If Our Coast Cities are Bombed."

A short story by Fannie Hurst, "Exempted."

Freddy the Pig creator and author Walter Brooks' new talking horse, "Mr. Ed" story (see photo #2). It's called  "Ed Gets a Mother Complex."

Achmed Abdullah's (pen name of Russian writer Alexander Nicholayevitch Romanoff) serial novel of Chinese intrigue in New York, "Blood of the Dragon" (Part 2).

Part VII of Faith Baldwin's novel in serial "Breath of Life."

Pierre van Paasen's essay "Can Hitler Make Peace Now?"

Howard Sharpe's longer article on "Jack Benny's Ten Best Gags."

Football correspondent Eddie Dooley's "Pro Football Knows the Angles." See photo #4.
