Profusely illustrated with one hundred and ninety one illustrations, of which one hundred and twenty five are in colour.

First UK edition. First published in Russian in 1982.

With a forward by Santina M. Levey, author of Lace: A History and specialist at the Victoria and Albert Museum, London.

This charming work details the variety of Russian lace and embrodiery from the twelfth to the early twentieth century and contains introductory essays and full commentaries on each included plate. The work was written by Louise Yefimova, Curator of the Department of Textiles and Costume at the Historical Museum in Moscow, and Rina Belogorskaya who is a specialist in the same department.


CONDITION

In a black cloth binding in the original unclipped dustwrapper. Housed in the original slipcase. Externally in lovely condition. Booksellers label of D. J. Hornsby to front pastedown. Dustwrapper is in excellent condition with some slight shelfwear to the head and tail of the spine. The odd spot to the reverse of the wrap. Slipcase is smart with shelfwear to the extremities. Handling marks to the slipcase. Internally firmly bound. Pages very bright and clean.
